RARE-Bestpractices is happy to announce the launch in February 2014 of RARE DISEASES AND ORPHAN DRUGS. An International Journal of Public Health (RARE Journal). The first and the second issues are available, in open access, online.

RARE Journal is a new international peer-reviewed journal published three times per year, with no publishing or subscription fees.

The mission of RARE Journal is to provide an advanced forum on important aspects of public health, health policy and clinical research in ways that will improve health care and outcomes for persons suffering from rare diseases, as well as increase globally the sharing of rare disease experience.

RARE Journal serves the international rare disease community by publishing high-quality articles from epidemiology, public health, health economics, social sciences, ethics and law.

RARE Journal is devoted to publishing several types of articles, including original research articles, case reports, systematic reviews and meta-analysis, reports of clinical practice guidelines, HTA reports, epidemiological registry reports, commentaries, letters to the Editors, and project reports.
